Adjacent Properties invites proposals from qualified and experienced childcare providers interested in leasing and operating a new, purpose-built childcare center located in Holdrege, Nebraska. The proposed facility is designed to accommodate up to 100 children and will be located adjacent to Holdrege Elementary School and the Medical Plaza.

The childcare building will be located behind the Medical Plaza, near the Holdrege Elementary School.
A licensed local childcare provider will run the center. Adjacent Properties will own and lease the space but will not operate the childcare center.
The center will have space for approximately 100 children.
Construction is scheduled for completion in 2026.
Enrollment will be open to the public; however, employees of Phelps Memorial Health Center, Phelps Medical Group and Adjacent Properties will have priority enrollment.
Enrollment is open to the public, however employees of PMHC, PMG and Adjacent Properties will be given “priority” for new, open childcare spots only. No child currently enrolled with any potential childcare provider will lose their current care.
Yes. The provider will set tuition rates. All families, including PMHC, PMG and Adjacent Properties employees, will be responsible for payment.
This project addresses the limited long-term availability of childcare options in Holdrege, supporting working families and community growth.
While this project is not directly connected to the HAECP, the need for a childcare center was brought forward through the inception of HAECP. Therefore, this project does support HAECP’s mission to expand access to quality childcare.
No. This center will add capacity, not replace existing providers. It’s an important step in strengthening local childcare infrastructure.
